Treyarch has released the list of system requirements for the PC-version of Call of Duty: World at War which is currently still in development. Even with a very old PC you should be able to play Activision’s new Call of Duty games without having too much trouble.

Israel just over clock it to 3.0ghz (if you have a overclockable motherboard) if not spend 100$ to 200$ on a Core 2 Duo E6850 Great proccessor.

Yes it will work on 32 bit OS, and you may be able to get around the 3.0 ghz Minimum. I ran COD4 on a 1.8 ghz Pentium 4 with 1.5 gig Ram and an ATI X1600 Pro. and it ran fine.

i did the stuff to the sound stuff and that got rid of the error now the game loads but takes forever and always crashes, plz help!!
drivers are updated, but graffics card may be an issue i got a x1600 pro 256mb ddr2pci-e in atm tryign to get cod waw to work because it ran witcher crysis and world in conflict fine but is a rx2600pro 256mb ddr2 pci-e better

I forgot to mention in my last post that the game loads the cinematics slowly, then after it loads the game slowly, but here is the thing, if I load a game on Co-op, it loads in like 15 seconds, sometimes not even.

COD5 wont work on graphic cards which do not support Shader Model 3.0 such as amd x800 u will get just black screen and sound and will will work fine

By the way for all of you who have been having the really long load times on singleplayer I was fooling around in the game files and fixed it!!!
OK. What you need to do (I have XP so I don’t know how to do it on Vista) is right click on the singleplayer icon on your desktop and hit PROPERTIES. The little pop-up will come up and you should see a button that says FIND TARGET. Click it. Now a window with a whole bunch of files will come up. Click on the file titled MAIN. Then you will see a file that says VIDEO. Open up video and take all the files out of it and put em in a new folder on your desktop (or store em in a place where they are not in the way). Now start up your singleplayer. It will go to the black screen as usual. This is normal. When the black screen comes up wait like 5 seconds and then click your left mouse button. The screen will come up. Then you can start your singleplayer campain. It will do the black screen thing for the campain again and wait like 10-30 seconds and click your mouse button (the first mission you need to do this twice because there was and opening video.) That’s all there is to it! It should work now!
**For those of you that are sceptical and want to know exactly what I just put down, the reason the game was loading up slow is because some people’s processors can’t run the videos that the game came with, so what we did was we basically took them out!**

all i did to make the game work on mine and my sons machine was - goto control panel, select system, select hardware, device manager, open - sound, video game controllers, right click on unimodem half-duplex audio device and disable it and hey presto it works

For single player, mine doesn’t freeze at all, it just doesn’t load at all. I’m not sure if I should leave it for 5 minutes like some of you are doing or what. I’m thinking about what Jeff5894 said and taking out all the videos but ehhh, that’s the story line….so I’ll probably leave it for a couple minutes, but if it doesn’t freeze is that a good or bad thing? Because it’s just not loading up right away or freezing, like some of yours are. (My comp. can run CoD4 on high settings and can run virtually anything so I’m pretty sure it can handle CoDWaW)

Ok.i installed CoD WaW. The installing whent fine untill i got in game,in the middle of a loading in the solo mission it suddenly says-”DirectX has encounterd a unrecoverable error,check he readme for possible solutions” I HAVE DirectX 9.0c and i tried to re-install the game but it still gives the same problem-I have a Nvidia FX 570m-maby its too weak i dunno,i also re-installed 9.0c-not working and i updated driver.so if some1 can help plz!!!!!

Well i certainly think it wouldn’t run on your computer. I don’t know if your graphics card is good enough, but your CPU isn’t. I upgraded mines to a dual core 2.4 and even now it doesn’t run good with Call of Duty: World at War :S.
I suggest you upgrade your system.
Raymond, Yea graphics is no good but advise has been half and half about the CPU, trying to find out for sure before building new rig :P. cheers anyway for the input.

I just bought call of duty:WaW for my PC. Once i installed it and i start the first mission in solo. It all ways lags. How do i make the lagging stop? theres enough space (i think)

Quad cores with 4670 sli or Xtreme c2d with 8800gtx… if you don’t know you’re more noob than the genuine posters and probably paid $20k for those systems when other noobs can buy for only $5k
And yeah same all here, getting ages to load up game. i’m thinking its because of single core processor. works fine on my 2ghz c2d laptop. Looking around for tweaks or setups but nobody seems to know
hey Daaaauen, i think it should work. got a very similar system to that but 7300gt agp, works fine with cod4. I know cod5 is similar requirements. But i’m sure you will get a ‘glitch’ where system seems to freeze for up to five minutes. If that happens just leave it alone. Then it will load upt he map fine later.
Also anyone having these same problems. go to your cod5, main, video and rename some of the one off files (they’re like advertisements/branding etc which freezes the game on loadup) doesn’t really help with loading single player but there should be other tweaks. Cheers

only 1gb ddr400,
single core amd athlon 64 3200+ (2ghz) and
geforce 7900gt
and runs quite well.
i think around 35 fps on all medium. no aa.
As said before, from research and seeing that it seems to only happen to single core systems. i think long load times are due to single core processors. so before you start up rename some of those video files. Then when loading game left click mouse to get into title screen and when you go to start single player, it will seem to freeze so walk away for 5 mins then come back and you’ll be in.

I’ve got a Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop, running on Vista 64-bit, and I’ve been running all over the place as of late trying to figure out what I can do to improve the graphics ability of my computer. Now, according to my Performance Index, everything is in tip-top shape except my graphics. They are the one and only thing holding me back. I would like to be able to play games, but even Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault and Company of Heroes run incredibly choppy. Here are my system specs according to my Performance Index:

ok well i have this problem when im installing the game and its starts to run the game but when its halfway done it says file not found and it aborts the installation can anyone help me
all of you should now by now that dual core is x2 the ghz (example:1.6ghz dual core = 3.2ghz) or a processor with over 3ghz, so any new pc with the right graphics card (you need a hd one i recomend a Sapphire RADEON HD 2400PRO for £19 on google shopping) then all you need is at least 1gb ram (windows xp 1.5gb for vista) so its quite silly asking if a 1.8ghz dual core processor is ok because it is (or anyone asking if a Q6600 processor with 8gb ram because thats practicly saying “I’ve got the bes pc here” because they know it will work hope this answers all your questions $HAPPY GAMING$

I’m running cod waw with a sempron 1.8ghz(LE1100)- 2Gb ddr2 800mhz memory-Geforce 9400GT Pci E - on a Biostar MCP6PB M2+ Ver 10.0- with a 320 Gig Hard drive and it still takes long to load but runs really great i’m going to change the chip to a Athlon X 64 Dual core 4000+ and i’ll let u guys know i thought there would be a patch or something for it but here goes .

I am going to get WaW for Valentines Day (nothing says love like blood, gore, and shooting people in the face with flamethrowers!) and I’m concerned about lag. CoD4 laged on my computer, sometimes worse then others. But since this games if for Windows and not just a PC DVD-ROM and I have read some things that says that it should work, which is good.
My computer meets all the requirements, except for one. The CPU. Which is always my downfall of these games. I have a Intel Prenium 4 (HT) whatever that means. Will it work with as little to no lag as possible. And is their a option to lower the texture and things to make it work?
