Call of Duty: World at War in November

Call of Duty: World at War, Treyarch, Activision, During the Canadian X08 event an PR rep said that will be heading to the , PlayStation 2, , , and PSP in November of this year. Almost every other Call of Duty game came out in November so this isn’t anything new for us.

Right now gamers are shooting their ass off at the Leipzig Games Convention in Germany with a playable demo of . We’re missing out on the fun, but luckily GameTrailers was so kind to upload some footage of the game. The footage is a bit shaky and of low quality, but it’s extremely tense and very promising.

Play.tm sat down with Rich Farrelly, creative lead and Noah Heller, senior producer of Call of Duty World at War. They talk about how interactive and destructable is the world, collaboration with Infinity Ward, the multiplayer side of things and much more.

Do you feel pressure from the success of CoD 4?
Well, there’s an incredible amount of pressure of course, but we’re up for it. We’ve had two years to work on this project, this is the first time some of the developers here have had that long to work on a game. We thrive on this kind of competition.
Anyone who’s trying to do their best work, applies their own pressure any way. We know that game is out there. Its awesome. We want to make sure that everyone who plays our game thinks the same thing.

Treyarch wants to show what it can with CoD: WaW

 Call of Duty: World at War, CoD: WaW, Treyarch, Infinty Wards, Call of Duty 3In 2007 was a big hit for Infinity Wards. hopes to achieve the same success with , but this time it’s who needs to prove that Call of Duty is still the best FPS gameseries. Seniore producer noah Heller believes that will be able to show what they can with this new opportunity. He admitted that could have been better if they had spend a little more time developing the game:

“Here’s a team who’s never actually had a chance to make a game with much time. Modern Warfare has come along a raised the bar really high and now the team says we’ve got to show what we’ve got, or else the players aren’t going to want to play it - expectations are so high.”
