Call of Duty: World at War isn’t out yet, but Activision is already making plans for the sequel on the fifth CoD game. The sixth part in the Call of Duty gameseries will be developed by Infinity Ward. It’s not sure if they will use the Call of Duty 4 engine for their new Call of Duty game. The setting of Call of Duty 6 hasn’t been announced yet either.

The gang over at CVG have a PS3 preview of Call of Duty World at War for us. The team had a chance to sit down with a demo of World at War, and here’s what they had to say:
The game is split across two campaigns COD4-style, with play beginning in the Pacific before flipping back to the final push by the Russians into Germany and Berlin.
The demo I sat down with began in the Pacific theatre, my introduction to World At War was watching a fellow
US marine have his eye burned with a cigarette before the Japanese commander slit his throat. Outside other marines were being shot. Then a crack team of marines burst in, killed everyone untied my hands and threw
me a gun. I’m in the action, out for payback and all I can think is - Wow: that was intense. Wow: that was gruesome and gritty as hell. Wow: Treyarch have done it, WWII still rocks.

Activision is still being very mysterious when it comes down to Call of Duty 5. It looks like Treyarch will be the developer of this fifth part in the Call of Duty gameseries. They didn’t want to confirm what the setting of the game will be like, but we expect it to be another WWII game.
“We’ll bring the intensity of the recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title to a new military theater to engage our significantly larger user base which nearly doubled last year as new users came into the franchise.”
Activision did confirm that the game will come out for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS and Wii.
