Thanks to the Leipzig Games Convention we have more new footage of Call of Duty: World at War from Treyarch. This time we get to see some flaming flamethrower action and some of the tropic bunkers hidden in this game.
Right now gamers are shooting their ass off at the Leipzig Games Convention in Germany with a playable demo of Call of Duty: World at War. We’re missing out on the fun, but luckily GameTrailers was so kind to upload some footage of the game. The footage is a bit shaky and of low quality, but it’s extremely tense and very promising.
Treyarch has released the list of system requirements for the PC-version of Call of Duty: World at War which is currently still in development. Even with a very old PC you should be able to play Activision’s new Call of Duty games without having too much trouble.
Gampstop has a pre-order exclusive. If you pre-order Call of Duty World at War from Gamestop you will get a code to unlock the M1A1 Carbine Assault Rifle.
The powerful M1A1 gives you the advantage with:
A much larger magazine-size than starting rifles so you can get more kills without slowing to reload.
Pin-tight targeting sight helps with quicker aiming for accurate take downs and headshots.
Lighting-fast semi-automatic firing gives you kill speeds you’ll need to blow away your competition.
Looks as if there will be no Co-Op for the Wii. WiiHD reports that the Wii will feature only 2 player offline coop, rather than the 4 player online coop found in the PS360 versions.
We are proud to bring what we believe will be the best-looking Wii game this fall to the community, but that comes with technical trade-offs. The difference between competitive MP and co-op is non-trivial. Think of a size of an MP level, then compare that to an SP level. Then consider all the AI code, level scripting, and endless other content in a SP / co-op environment that is just too much for the Wii to sustain with our engine.
Call of Duty: World at War isn’t out yet, but Activision is already making plans for the sequel on the fifth CoD game. The sixth part in the Call of Duty gameseries will be developed by Infinity Ward. It’s not sure if they will use the Call of Duty 4 engine for their new Call of Duty game. The setting of Call of Duty 6 hasn’t been announced yet either.
Nintendo showed off quite a lot of footage of the Wii-version of Call of Duty: World at War. In the gameplay trailer shown during their press conference we saw a lot of flamethrower action, Wii Zapper-gameplay and some shots of the co-op mode.
As promised, Activision released the first Call of Duty: World at War trailer on Xbox Live today. All those gamers out there who don’t have a Xbox 360, have no fear because the trailer is already being uploaded so that everyone can watch it.
It’s always nice to start the day with some fresh news from the Call of Duty: World at War front! Activision announced that the first trailer of the game will be released on June 21 exclusively on Xbox Live. But off course the trailer will also be uploaded on the internet for those who aren’t lucky enough to watch it on the Xbox 360’s online service.
