Treyarch has just made our day by releasing four new screenshots of Call of Duty: World at War. The screenshots probably come from the Xbox 360-, PS3- and PC-version of the game. Wii-, PS2- and Nintendo DS-screenshots haven’t been released yet.
In 2007 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was a big hit for Infinity Wards. Activision hopes to achieve the same success with Call of Duty: World at War, but this time it’s Treyarch who needs to prove that Call of Duty is still the best FPS gameseries. Seniore producer noah Heller believes that Treyarch will be able to show what they can with this new opportunity. He admitted that Call of Duty 3 could have been better if they had spend a little more time developing the game:
“Here’s a team who’s never actually had a chance to make a game with much time. Modern Warfare has come along a raised the bar really high and now the team says we’ve got to show what we’ve got, or else the players aren’t going to want to play it - expectations are so high.”
Activision released another fact sheet of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and mailed some new screenshots showing us some hot action from the pacific and European fronts. In this gritty fight you will play against enemies that know no surrender and show no mercy. The game transforms WWII trhough a new enemy, new uncensored experience of the climatic battles that gripped a genration and it’s packed with loads of tactics.
Call of Duty: World at War introduces co-operative play, bringing fresh meaning to the “No One Fights Alone” mantra with up to four-players online for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, or two-player local split-screen on consoles. Nintendo Wii will also support a unique co-op mode for two players. For the first time ever players will experience harrowing single-player missions together for greater camaraderie and tactical execution. Read the rest of this entry »

Today a few possible possible boxarts for Call of Duty: World at War leaked. It’s not clear if one of these boxarts will ever make it to the final product, but it’s still a bit early to be picking a boxart. Anyhow, we would certainly like to see one of these packshots as the final boxart!
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, probably the best game of 2007, is getting a new sequel this fall!. The story starts at the Pacific and then switches to the march of Russia and Germany. The AI of the Japanese soldiers is different than the AI used with the European soldiers.
